Za Rap

April 19, 1989
Sung to digitized samples of Beastie Boys songs

I look at my watch and see its time
Mickey Mouse say its time to rhyme
so I make a note to write the quote
and start it up with the previous line-za <rap>

So I rant and I rave and I misbehave
breaking the rules that poets have
about keeping time and making rhymes
cause I have more soul than Sam and Dave-za

rap is here and za rap is there
za rap quoted lines from outta thin air
za rap is back for za rap attack
and za rap don't have stubble 'cause it uses nair

So ex-Monty sez "What's with the rap, man?"
And I reply "it's def, it's jammin' -
It's the latest craze, and, hell, it pays."
And he looks at me like he's Tony Dan-za <rap>
So I say "ok, so it's easy to write
and mine ain't so hot cause I am white
but the Beastie Boys, they made some noise
and hell, if this sells, I have the right-za

rap is here and za rap is there
za rap quoted lines from outta thin air
za rap is back for za rap attack
and will soon be found on za record play'r

But now I'm gonna say goodbye
as R-E-O says, "it be time for me to fly"
and so I'm moving to stop this groovin'
and split the scene like Marshall Cri-za <rap>
